The Labor and Employment Relations – Workers’ Rights Online Certificate is the first phase for students who seek to earn the Master’s in Labor and Employment Relations (MLER) degree in Labor and Global Workers’ Rights (GLU track). The Workers’ Rights Online Graduate Certificate requires successful completion of four 3-credit graduate online courses (12 credits) with a grade of B or better. Upon completion of this certificate, only those invited can apply to Phase 2 (MLER degree) of the GLU program.
Examples of the asynchronous online courses include: Labor and Democracy, Labor and Employment History, Leadership in Work Organizations, and Economics and Public Policy in a Global Context. The online courses will be applied toward the MLER degree for the invited students who continue to the full GLU track (Phase 2).
Students can complete the course at their own pace, taking one or two courses per semester.
The GLU track requires successful completion of nine 3-credit graduate in-person courses (27 credits). This will allow interested students to take 13 courses (39 credits in total) and earn a certificate and master’s degree simultaneously. Students who demonstrate strong dedication and possess a high level of proficiency in English may be able to obtain the online certificate and the MLER degree within two years.
Virtual info sessions take place every month, starting from March 25th.
